Consistency [The stream]

Image
I walked towards the stream and saw how dry it was; Not even a droplet was found.  Oh! how it brought satisfaction to everyone that came to draw from it. How much could ever be drawn out to warrant its dryness? The flourishing stream!  Flowing in its glory and satisfying. Why did you stop? It seemed so impossible to stop drawing from it. If only the water gauge never got weak.  If only they were in check steadily to know when to be replaced No one goes to the stream anymore. It has lost its relevance.  Once memorable now desolate.

Your plans versus God's plan

Image
Have you been in a position of worry or you're wondering why you're not getting results the way 'you planned'? I've been in this circle for a very long time now. I've had a series of experiences where I've tried so hard to plan out my life, as in literally draft out all that would happen, and I only see them crashing down.  One of the times, I even had to plan out my future(marriage, kids, job etc), I  didn't bother to consult God, who knows my future better than I do. I only did it because I felt I knew what I wanted that was best for me. Fortunately for me, God made those plans to crash totally because none of the things I planned out ever even made it(even as a dim sketch) in God's plan for me.  There are times I felt that God was being unfair to me. Especially in times where I felt that my mates have gone far ahead of me in studies. Little did I know that everyone's path in life is never the same.  When you feel withdrawn by God from what o...

Expectations

Image
What happens when you don't meet up with expectations? What happens when you make a mistake? Sometimes it is hard to explain why you made a mistake. Sometimes it is difficult to meet up with expectations that surrounds you. If I choose to neglect someone because he did not meet up with my expectations or because he probably made a terrible mistake towards me, then I'd be getting it all wrong. Discarding people because they didn't do what you expected them to do or giving up on them because you feel they're just wasting your time is not an ideal thing to do. We must learn to understand people, tolerate people, most importantly,  be patient with people as well as forgive them. No one has gotten it all. Everyone needs time to build. Everyone needs a chance to be better.  When someone is not getting it right, the best thing to do is to correct in love and help the person stand. By so doing, that person will finally rise and be a better person. If you just discard such per...

NAKED BUT NOT ASHAMED

Image
Walk with me! Follow me and I'll show you that which you seek.  Stay with me! Observe and learn that which no other can teach you. Trust me! Depend on me and I'll fix you.  Open up to me! Strip yourself then adorn yourself with me. I am the Alpha and Omega! I know what you've faced and what you are to face! I am your covering! I will not turn your weaknesses against you. I am your rock and sure foundation! I can keep you unshaken! Come hide in me! With Me, shame is far from you. With Me, you are more than a conqueror. Come naked but be not ashamed of your nakedness. Naked but not ashamed!

The fate of Mr Godson (part 2)

Image
Mr Godson appeared in court for trial on the 15th of March as scheduled.  After a series of cross-examinations, the court didn't find the accused innocent because the evidence brought before the court were not substantial. He was convicted of the crime of stealing and was sentenced to three years imprisonment. When they began to handcuff and carry  Godson back to the cell, Mrs kate hurriedly followed the men, demanding to speak to her husband. She was allowed to see him and that was when she told him that they must go for an appeal.  Mrs kate is a very nice and calm woman, but when it comes to serious matters involving her family, she doesn't take it for granted rather she takes the bull by the horn. Seven solid years passed and Mr Godson was still held in custody. It was a living hell for him and his wife was wallowing in depression. In fact, she was already losing hope because the appeal was taking too long to hold.  As Mrs kate was constantly checking up on...

How to handle life threats

Image
How do you handle situations that pose a threat to you personally or your interest? Many times in life, we tend to overlook the little things that threaten our interest. When it becomes difficult to trace a problem, then finding a solution becomes impossible. In other words, if we do not understand the agenda of the enemy, we may continue to relax and end up not taking actions. For a long time now the devil has been roaming about looking for whom to devour. He keeps fighting in marriages, businesses, careers, etc. He tries so hard to steal away the salvation of as many believers as possible because he knows his time is very short. Whether we like it or not, the devil is not stopping until he has accomplished what he wants (which is destruction -John 10:10).  We must be sensitive enough to know at what point in our lives where the enemy (devil) is fighting against us. Instead of pushing the blame on that colleague in the office, or pushing it on your husband/wife, who didn't ...

DIARY OF A LAW STUDENT. Episode 2

Image
The time was 9 am on a Tuesday morning and the students were seated ready to take their first lecture for the day. Some people were reading, some chatting and some others were taking selfies. Fifteen minutes later, as the lecturer walked in, some students that were loitering began to hurry into the class. Those that were not fast enough ended up outside and they missed the lecture.  "Good day class," said Mr Ejele "Good day sir"  the students responded. "Who can explain the principle of law established in the case of Central London Property Trust v High Trees House," asked the lecturer. "But before then, (he continues) course rep, circulate the attendance. All of you outside please can you leave the corridor. I don't want to see you near the class. And those of you that think that you can just manipulate your name into the attendance list, I'm sorry for you because I'll fish you out." As Emilia raised her hand to respond to t...

Diary of a Law student. Episode 1

Image
It was time for the final paper of the semester. Students were everywhere revising and muttering words to themselves. Some were sitting while some were standing and others were pacing back and forth with their books in their hands trying to cram some cases and sections of the contract law because they knew fully well how their contract lecturer loved cases. She would always shout "I love cases! I love cases and you must answer each question and support your opinion with cases!" As soon as the examiner entered the auditorium, she said "put away everything that will incriminate you. And you better don't allow me to catch you cheating." Some people began to mumble as they put their books away to begin the exam. As some other invigilators began to distribute the question papers and answer sheets, they told everyone not to start yet. Immediately they finished, they asked everyone to begin. "You started by 9 am sharp and you all are stopping by 12 noon sh...

What is your greatest fear?

Image
What are your fears? Have you ever imagined something and immediately thought to yourself saying"if this mistakenly happens, then I'm finished for life" or "I don't think I can ever stand experiencing this". Do you want to find out how to handle your fears? Then keep reading. But shortly before I continue I have some experiences to share. My greatest fear has been failing, no matter the type. I came to a point where I failed in a particular area in life and it tore me apart, it was later that I discovered that it was because I handled it wrongly. At a point, it felt like the world was on my shoulders, other times it felt like I was suffocating. Such a challenge came with so much pain that was so deep and it felt like I couldn't take it anymore. I've also been in a state where I thought everything had fallen apart and I was almost condemning myself for failing again, but on second thought, I beat my chest and said "never! This isn...
