How to know true love

There is this drive that comes with love. It is referred to as passion.  When you truly love someone you can't just stop being passionate about the person. Everything that concerns the person is your ultimate goal. You begin to discover that just as you are passionate about pursuing your own dream, at the same time, you are passionate about bringing out the best in that person.
A good example of expressed love is shown by God the Father, who did not even spare his Son but gave him up because he loves the world (John 3:16).

No one is eliminated from the love of God, it is actually open for all. Now, it's not even about what we have done as it was while we were yet sinners that Jesus died for us, but because God is love, that's His nature and he is very much passionate about us. He is a definition of true love. God is so passionate about us that he never removes his eye away. He doesn't sleep nor slumber so what do you think he's doing, he is watching over you, yes you! When you sleep, he fights your secret battles, he smiles over you, he makes sure you have food in your table.  Even when people come to you and tell you that you are good for nothing or that you will never make it, God just laughs because he is aware of the great plans he has for you that has not even been conceived by any man. I don't think this love can ever be exhausted. Just as each day goes by, his love keeps unveiling in numerous dimensions.

All we have to do is to love God completely and love one another(Matthew 22:37).

Picture the lifestyle of some couples or even newlyweds, they keep unveiling and expressing the various dimensions of their love to each other. They try as much as possible not to hurt each other's feelings so they just keep trying harder. Even when it doesn't seem easy, they keep pushing.

They are not doing it with the aim of making a public show but because this passion, to make the best out of one another, keeps driving them to do more.

Most times you hear people say " what did I do to deserve all these", at this point, the person saying this has been shown so much love that he/she begins to wonder what he/she did to get such massive love.

Understand that it is not about what anyone did to deserve the love they received but that the person showing this love is wrapped up with a blanket of passion for the other that can't be taken away.
No matter the level of relationship, people reflect passion in various ways. For instance, someone that cannot stay a day without praying for you is passionate about you;  someone that always suggests to you how to move that your dream forward; someone who is always there for you both in hard embarrassing moments of your life- who won't just walk away when you fall or drift away and lots more.

Imagine a parent who is persistent in bringing the request to God about their children, coupled with other things they do to express their love. Do you think they just do it because they don't know what to do with their time? Of course not! They love their children so much and are really passionate about them. How do you think they feel when those children grow up and become great but instead of expressing gratitude to the parents they just neglect them and just focus on their ambitions.
Sometimes we forget that our creator, the Almighty God loves us then, as a result, we tend to buy the lies of the devil, making us feel that we don't deserve one another thereby making us treat each other with contempt. But the moment we realise who we are, knowing that Jesus died for all (2 corinthians 5:15) and loves all, we could actually make the world a better place.

Has anyone ever had a challenge of showing love to someone? Or can someone actually love someone without being passionate about them? Please feel free to share your intake in the comments below.

  2. Zizzle, you write so well. On the issue of love, I think it helps when it’s reciprocal. Every party involved should be willing to give.
