The fate of Mr Godson (part 2)

 

Mr Godson appeared in court for trial on the 15th of March as scheduled. 

After a series of cross-examinations, the court didn't find the accused innocent because the evidence brought before the court were not substantial. He was convicted of the crime of stealing and was sentenced to three years imprisonment.

When they began to handcuff and carry  Godson back to the cell, Mrs kate hurriedly followed the men, demanding to speak to her husband. She was allowed to see him and that was when she told him that they must go for an appeal. 

Mrs kate is a very nice and calm woman, but when it comes to serious matters involving her family, she doesn't take it for granted rather she takes the bull by the horn.

Seven solid years passed and Mr Godson was still held in custody. It was a living hell for him and his wife was wallowing in depression. In fact, she was already losing hope because the appeal was taking too long to hold. 

As Mrs kate was constantly checking up on their lawyer to keep her posted, she continued getting the painful result that the date had not been fixed by the court. 

Two days after she called their lawyer and he gave her the regular news, she started praying about the whole situation because she knew that it had passed her power. She began praying intensely for the release of her husband. Nora on the other hand had a very vibrant spirit and was not depressed for one bit. She was busy asking questions concerning the incident that happened the day her father was arrested. Although she didn't get any result, she still believed that someday she would get the proper result.

It happened that while Mrs kate and Nora were having their dinner, Nora saw the headline that read "the president's prerogative of mercy to three convicts". Immediately Nora read this she saw some convicts stepping out of the cell freely and she saw her dad stepping out with them. That was when she alerted her mom and they both rejoiced.

One hour later, they heard a knock on the door and as Mrs kate went to check the door, behold her husband accompanied by two officers. Mrs Kate, with tears running down her soft cheeks hugged her husband and welcomed him. While the officers turned back and left, they entered and shut their door. Nora saw her father and screamed as she ran to hug him. As they were still rejoicing, they heard a sharp noise on their door and as Nora went to check, behold it was the same set of people that set Mr Godson up at the parking lot that broke into their house. Nora was at gunpoint when she shouted and alerted her parents. Mr Godson saw those men and immediately recognise them while Mrs kate began to beg that they should let her daughter go but as the men told them to shut up and they continued, they hit Nora with the edge of the gun and she fell.

Meanwhile, the two officers that were not far from the house began to hear screams so they rushed back and at the same time called for more back up. 

They got there and arrested the men and that was how they were finally captured. This time Mr Godson was able to tender his evidence against them pertaining to the flash drive because his daughter finally got proper evidence from her research. 

The men were finally charged for stealing and conspiracy, burglary and battery. They spent twenty years in prison.
