Your plans versus God's plan
One of the times, I even had to plan out my future(marriage, kids, job etc), I didn't bother to consult God, who knows my future better than I do. I only did it because I felt I knew what I wanted that was best for me. Fortunately for me, God made those plans to crash totally because none of the things I planned out ever even made it(even as a dim sketch) in God's plan for me.
There are times I felt that God was being unfair to me. Especially in times where I felt that my mates have gone far ahead of me in studies. Little did I know that everyone's path in life is never the same.
When you feel withdrawn by God from what ordinarily you would have done, don't feel offended. All you have to do is to trust God and enjoy the process because he's cooking up something great for you.
There was another particular time I felt very discouraged about studies, for example, I had finished my studies in the department of law and I already knew for sure that nothing was going to 'delay' my admission into the Nigerian law school. It all happened for a reason I can't still understand. The Lord showed me later on that it was not a delay as I thought but that I should trust him and his timing. The goodnews is that it was in the place of trusting and waiting that birthed this blog as well as the new business he helped me start(@zimzfruities).
A lot of people keep wondering why 'their plan' is not coming through or why the promise of God is not coming as fast as they want it. The truth is that when a manufacturer wants to produce a product that will last the test of time, he would take his time no matter whether people are so eager for it to come out. That's the same with God, he doesn't want to launch you out when you're not yet ready. So instead of worrying and feeling bad, just trust God and his process.
This is what the psalmist says; in psalms.19.7-10
The law of the LORD is perfect;
It gives new strength.
The commands of the LORD are trustworthy, giving wisdom to those who lack it. (vs.7)
The laws of the LORD are right, and those who obey them are happy.
The commands of the LORD are just and give understanding to the mind. ( vs8)
Reverence for the LORD is good; it will continue forever
The judgements of the LORD are just; they are always fair. ( vs9)
They are more desirable than the finest gold;
They are sweeter than the purest honey.(vs10)
What else can I desire that can be compared to God's recommendation for me. The psalmist said HIS judgments are more desirable than the finest gold and purest honey. This means that it can't be compared to anything whatsoever.
Let God guide you through the paths of life. He knows much better! He knows your beginning and your end!
I wouldn't make the mistake of neglecting the guidance of the Holy Spirit and end up wasting my life. Rather, I'll let God guide me so that I'll be made perfect before him.
Never trouble yourself worrying about so many mistakes that have occurred as though they can be changed, but rather submit to God's precepts and have clear direction and peace.
LIFE IS ALL ABOUT GOD! THE CREATOR OF HEAVEN AND EARTH(INCLUDING YOU)!
